Global Compact

THE GLOBAL COMPACT

Taking a leadership position with regard to responsible citizenship, Common Ground for Conservation has pledged their commitment to support the Global Compact and its principles.

Launched by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in July 2000, the Global compact has grown to become the world's largest corporate citizenship initiative.

Implementation of the UN Global Compact can be approached in a number of different ways. CGC is working primarily in developing the GC Capacity Building Project under the umbrella of Citizens XXI Program.

The goal has been to produce a set of learning objectives that aimed to promote the ten principles of Global Compact and make those principles part of our strategy and operations.

TEN PRINCIPLES OF THE GLOBAL COMPACT

Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses.

Labour Standards
